This is a kitchen thermometer design which utilized internal components identical to that of a much older Tanita thermometer which targeted professional market. The key challenge was create an updated design with a more playful image and to target the consumer market. To achieve this, simple organic curves along with natural color scheme (colors found in fruits and vegetables) were used. Furthermore, number of parts was reduced which along with utilization of already existing internal components led to creation of a fresher and more appealing product at a reduced cost.
